I'm doubtful that Obama personally knew about every FBI/CIA "counter-intelligence" machination against the Trump campaign in 2016/17. These agencies have massive (and disturbing) autonomy. Either way, Biden should be asked: "What did the President know, and when did he know it?"

People, one text from Lisa Page on September 2, 2016 saying "potus wants to know everything we're doing" doesn't mean that Obama knew every single detail contemporaneously. That's just not how it works with these agencies. Don't take a cartoonish view of the security state.

Irrelevant, he was the chief of the executive branch and is responsible. What's worse than knowingly using the intelligence/counterintelligence apparatus against a political opponent, is not having the managerial structures in place to prevent it. Either way is an affront.

See, sometimes you make sense, and at others you throw common sense out the window. He doesn’t need to know every detail about it. That’s a glib argument. He just needs to sign off on the main idea of spying on his opponent.

...but they all shared the same goal! So one would assume that they would want to communicate with each other, to compare notes & not waste time on something that has already been investigated! 1 agency could have been in communications w/Obama, and sharing the progress of all!

I would be stunned if Obama didn’t know early in the process. Yes, these are big bureaucracies, but they are full of political appointees that would know immediately how serious running a counterintel op on an opposition party would be if discovered. Obama had to know early.
