    Michael Tracey Retweeted Secretary Pompeo

Nothing says "freedom and democracy" like an attempted military coup, which is what Pompeo declares here the US is "fully supporting"https://twitter.com/SecPompeo/status/1123211995908591616 …

all democratic institutions suffer what's called "regulatory capture" where the big money interests end up buying or fronting the candidates until there's no more genuine will or pov... tis why all amoral republics devolve into oligarchy/plutocracy

It’s okay. They named it Operation Liberty so it is bound to work out great. I am sure John Locke would be on board, he loved liberty.

Would it be a coup if Trump lost the election, refused to leave the White House, and the military evicted him?

I watched Libya in horror of western idiocy, but is Maduro destroying Venezualan democracy, creating a new parliament when it suited him and staying in power purely because of the military and supreme court not a coup?

What do you think the alternative is? Maduro was going to lose, he suspended the election, there were extrajudicial killings and he won in a landslide. The EU, US and most of World don't recognize Maduro as President. So what's the alternative?

This whole thing scares me but have you laid out an alternative? Seems like things were spiraling into chaos there.

Freedom for whom? The families of the corrupt military in Venezuela?, Maduros & his partnership Cuba & Russia?. Venezuelans are desperately hoping for an intervention
