Yes, exactly. I have no idea what that tweet is in reference to or what happened that day that might have prompted it. It simply is not the case that I have made a strong argument that there was collusion.

The tweet was in reference to (incendiary and overwrought) news reports about the Trump Tower meeting.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/10/us/politics/donald-trump-jr-russia-email-candidacy.html …

Ah, in that case I stand by it. That meeting was evidence of collusion then and remains so now.

Thank you for confirming that you advanced a cartoonish view of collusion. Some of us inferred immediately that a meeting facilitated over email by a British music promoter was exceedingly unlikely to indicate collusion.

If you think that believing that a meeting between a political campaign and a foreign power explicitly set up to deliver dirt on an opponent is not evidence of collusion, then yes, our views are sufficiently divergent that one of us is, indeed, cartoonish.

In that case you must regard Robert Mueller as having a cartoonish view of collusion, considering he concluded that the Trump Tower meeting was not indicative of collusion.

But that's silly. He didn't conclude any such thing. He didn't evaluate whether there was collusion. He evaluated whether there was sufficient evidence of criminal conspiracy to bring a case. It's a very different question.

He did evaluate collusion, and we know this because he said so himself. Rosenstein also explicitly stated in his August 2, 2017 memo that Mueller's mandate was to evaluate collusion.https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1120120963809652738 …

To everyone who keeps speciously arguing that Mueller technically didn't investigate "collusion" because that's not a formal legal term: You're wrong. Mueller explicitly states that he took "collusion" to be "largely synonymous with conspiracy," the relevant federal crime pic.twitter.com/fPYXDhdrTU

Yes dude, I read the entire thing carefully, which is how I came across the section where Mueller says he investigated collusion.

Wittes "friendship" with @Comey makes all his opinions in this matter questionable. He really should recuse himself from any further reporting on this scandal as he has personnel relationships with people involved.

He has provided guides on how to read the Mueller report but never once mentioned the presumption of innocence or the long ethical traditions forbidding prosecutors from issuing such opinions in order to protect the innocent.
