Ancillary point, but the Boston Bombing was not a major incident relatively speaking. Three people died. Tragic, but dwarfed by many other attacks before and since. Most enduring legacy was putting the entire Boston region on "lockdown" due to 2 pipe bombshttps://twitter.com/MeghanMcCain/status/1120619329282822144 …

The man who commit one of the most massive acts of terrorism in this country where 3 people were killed and 264 were injured should have the same voting rights I do? All democrats have to do is not be crazy and this is bat shit insane and deeply offensive to the bombing victims. https://twitter.com/Mediaite/status/1120502654420099072 …

I remember walking around outside during the voluntary lockdown and being freaked out at how quickly a police state can be implemented. It was nice and freaky to walk around an urban environment with almost no people in it.

"voluntary"? I saw plenty of video of cops using threats of violence and arrest to enforce the lockdown.

The full auto into a heavily inhabited suburb at an unarmed teenager hiding in a boat was the other notable thing. Amazed the Khmer Rouge firing squad at BPD didn't kill half the neighborhood.

Not a great nit-pick. It was major attack at one of our nations big drawls. Not a fan of McCain, but come on. Terror is for those that survive, not the dead

This was major as it was rare. Pressure cooker bombs at a Marathon? C'mon dude.

It wasn't major by measuring fatalities, it was major by measuring fear created and the response it generated -- which are far more important to "terrorism" than fatalities. The "lockdown" and the additional fear it created were effects of the bombing; you cannot divorce them.

In terms of damage it wasn't. But it showed hiw any public place can be targeted and now large events, like a marathon, have to boost security substantially

True, but Bernie blew it really badly nonetheless....he should not have answered the question like that. Huge blunder. Even the CNN anchor was trying to help him recover, but Bernie didn't see it.

Do you remember when M. Dukakis answered an emotional question would he still be opposed to the death penalty if it was his wife who was killed by a criminal? And he answered like a robot that he still would be opposed to the death penalty? Bernie's tone deaf response is similar.
