Back during the Civil War there were people who took basically a kind of anti-anti-slavery position. To be sure, they’d say, they didn’t like slavery, obviously BUT: the abolitionists were deranged, the Northern Establishment corrupt, Lincoln a scourge to civil liberties.

The reasoning is so convoluted I don't even understand it. What he seems to be painstakingly aiming to is that, if you don't go with a conspiracy theory, you're supporting Trump? What about suggesting proper policies people will vote for instead of pushing McCarthyist paranoia?
-
Candidates who rely on good policies always do so well in our system, as long as those policies are racist.

In this case Trump has been helped by those who stand up for truth, but that is not a reason to embrace false narratives. Don't let TDS blind you to fundamental values.

And now we have proof of why
@CNN pushed the false narrative knowing it was a lie: it didn’t matter it was a lie because he knew Trump was “evil” and so he was in the “right” even if they were wrong.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I'm nobody, but I disagree. Hayes is wrong, making a false equivalency, and wrong on a lot of other stuff these days, and now trying to make up for two years of incompetency. It's kind of pathetic, but I don't think he's evil.

It it me or is Chris Hayes starting to sound like John Brennan? There must be a clinical pathology at play when one frames their own intense personal desires to grandiose historical events.

Isn't he talking about Republicans supporting Trump even though they privately say they can't stand him but the option of siding with Democrats is even worse?
