People forget or ignore that WikiLeaks helped spark the 2011 uprising in Tunisia by exposing the ruler's corruption & debauchery. Which arguably set the stage for the wider Arab Spring. 99.9% of journalists will never accomplish anything like this; that's why they're so resentfulpic.twitter.com/u6wsWT0Qob

I think that this "journalism envy" thing is a misreading: journalists don't really want to accomplish anything like this. Their dislike of Assange is far more straightforwardly that they identify with power and don't like him as a traitor to it

People forget that a person / entity can do a productive thing and that it doesn’t displace the possibly terrible and illegal things. > 1 thing can be a thing.

good grief #FckOff you despoicable soulless #Propagandist with #NoConsciencre. Propagandists are scum of the earth and among the first 10 hanged for crimes against humanity by the the German people after Nuremberg. Find a new and respectable hobby besides Internet liar

Because that’s not journalism. It’s apples and oranges really. Both fruits, but not the same thing.

This reminds me of an episode of @LastWeekTonight where they talked about the effects of social media today. The message seemed to be that they’re bad, but forgot to mention a lot of the times when their presence was good. That cherrypicking has led me to stop watching the show.

And if this needs clarifying (as I’m sure many people will read and care about my tweet), I hate social media, and I do believe they’re mostly terrible. But the point is that in some situations, positive things happened that need to be placed in the scale when passing judgment.

That & they fear uprisings happening in western countries, on US soil especially. The careers a lot of these media figures have made for themselves would most likely be finished, or at least the rewards received would greatly decline in short time. http://journals.sfu.ca/jalt/index.php/jalt/article/view/47/45 …

Michael- you're one hell of a brave young journalist especially since so many mainstream pundits have become a defacto deep state defenders, deliberately deceived the public on Trump/Russia hysteria and lack basic self awareness.
