The First Amendment protects Australian citizens?

It absolutely does! If NYT published article by an Australian do you think the constitution says DOJ can just arrest the author because she’s not American? Assange is trash and I don’t think Wikileaks is journalism, but many constitutional rights apply to non citizens.

I don’t believe he’s an American citizen

Nor was he in the US at the time.

Assange is being prosecuted for working with Manning to actively hack into govt database and disseminate info- how is that "journalism?"

Reasonable people can disagree about what is happening here, but reading it as an attack on the 1st A and something for "constitutional conservatives" to be outraged about is just a total misunderstanding of the situation.

Sassy is an eloquent speaker and uses the constitution as a prop. When it comes down to taking war powers back debating budgets cutting spending his actions show that he does not ascribe to its basic tenets

What if the whole point of accusing Donald Trump of Russian connections was so that he couldn't take action to protect Julian Assange against the Establishment? Force him to stand aside, lest he be seen as helping Putin?
-
That’s too big of a commitment, just watch, Assange is going to have an “unfortunate cardiac arrest” in US custody within a month of his trial being over

I know I’ve said this a ton of times before but let’s just have a quick war in Syberia, we’ll let you use it, we don’t use it for much anyways. You guys can draft all those people who are so gun-go about “the evil Russians”, problem solved.
