As a culture, we long ago accepted that our votes mean nothing. The whole enterprise was reduced to some kind of sports entertainment. Of course the public acted irresponsibly because they correctly sensed that, from the point of view of moral agency, nothing was at stake.
The transition was easy because many of the outlets they worked for and the journalism schools they went to have spent decades teaching people how to spread false narratives and how to demonize opponents with strawman arguments.

I just listened to Rand Paul Andy Biggs Tom Udell and #sassiemassie speak about taking war powers back. The will is there what is needed is outrage from the media and the public
"Revealed themselves as" rather than "decided to become" is likely closer to the truth. Overcoming one's own biases requires a strong commitment and vigilance. It's vitally important in journalism and science and both have suffered of late.

Around that same time you made it your core mission to downplay any Russian interference and resist literally any investigation. The #Resistance was wrong about Russia but there is literally nothing useful you have to say about this issue. It’s just childish “see I told you so!”
