Olbermann was arguably the most influential MSNBC host throughout the entire George W. Bush years, and he was doing these Resistance video rants for GQ Magazine. He's now back on ESPN. Don't tell me he's some fringe, marginal figure.

I was a regular viewer of Olbermann during the Iraq War and at the time found his commentaries vitally important. I even later appeared on his Current TV show (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E3zT0y7E0k …). I don't find his Trump-era descent into deranged madness funny. I find it truly disturbing.

I remember seeing that rant at the time. It was so over the top that I thought Keith had either completely lost his mind or was shamefully lying and felt that Trump was so bad, any condemnation of him (however false/absurd) was justified. Can’t believe anyone took him seriously.

Think of Trump’s power. He gets in their heads. People who were once considered intelligent and sane have lost their minds, lost all credibility & destroyed their careers over him. Can you imagine having such an effect on people? Its fascinating but scary.

He became a caricature of himself long before his GQ rants.

Does this say more about the people who believe this nonsense or the ones peddling it, apparently very successfully?

Watched him every day between 2004 and 2008. Enjoyed it thoroughly. He was a little bit unhinged sometimes but it worked. In the GQ vids he looks psychotic. Brainwashed MK-ULTRA look.

Its now 2.5 years since that Olberman end of the world rant. And nothing he railed about that was an imminent danger has remotely come true.

One of funniest sketches on SNL was Ben Affleck's impersonation of Keith Olbermann from 2008. Now completely scrubbed from the internet!pic.twitter.com/vZPgxbS07Z

I think Majority Report gave you a raw deal the other day. But c’mon, other topics?
-
No. He can't, and if he really was convinced into his beliefs, he wouldn't be talking as much about it. BTW instead of a debate, Sam just should have explained everything to him and Michael just should have listened.
