The crazy thing about Trump/Russia is that you could watch the narrative coalescing in real time on Twitter. I knew from literally the first day it started, in July 2016, that it was a total farce. But it just kept snowballing, and eventually consumed the entire political system

To me, the fact that the Clinton campaign was spreading the idea so quickly after being defeated, they couldn't possibly have had time to base their opinion on fact. So it had to be made up.

The wilful insistance to ignore what #Assange showed us with the emails still blows my mind. Hillary yelled Russia! and everyone followed. No one felt the establishment's ring in their nose. Such an opportunity squandered.

That's what I remember. She said something offhand in a debate or something and that set the fuse.

Wikileaks revealed that the plot was cooked up by Clinton & her cronies. It’s strange that so many people took it seriously

Really, it pre-dates Trump's involvement. Goes back to the pro-NATO, anti-Russian ideology pushed regarding Ukraine and Syria during the Obama admin, then it transitioned into Trump and the 2016 election. For those of us following, it was all interconnected.

Safe to say, generally speaking, those who didn't recognize that the Russia collusion narrative was obviously bogus from "literally the first day it started" were those who wanted it to be true. Many of those same people don't accept the Mueller summary for the very same reason.

Twitter/youtube is a giant shipyard for media narrative assembly / disassembly. People from different walks of life are learning to see through the tricks the broadcast media has used to divide, confuse, and direct them and their resources to destructive ends.

Bad actors, deeply skilled at argumentation, initially used social media as an amplifier for their agendas, but the average person is catching up. Over time, the networks of trust being built by them, and good faith thought leaders, will outclass the MSM fear machine.

The Democrats looks so undependable and so crazy, many people will now be afraid to vote for them. A politically incorrect Trump is at least something they can understand.

Exactly how I see it. It was so blatantly absurd when it started and was largely ignored by everyone in October and November ‘16 as a diversion from the leaks. Then it just snowballed as the dem and media circle began to force feed it.

You could have also, you know, focused on more important things. If you follow people who scream about Russia then you're going to *see a lot of tweets about Russia*
