This is quite the indictment, but not of Republicanshttps://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1109095153338327040 …

No, Michael, it's not. Where is someone's head if they don't know how much or how little they're paying in taxes? This would be just as frustrating if the Democrats had passed the tax cuts. Not everything is on politicians; voters have to accept some basic level of awareness.
-
The Democrats did pass tax cuts under Obama, and the very same thing happened. You're simply not informed on the science. There's a reason ppl don't feel tax cuts. Many expenses are variable and gobble up the small gains per pay period.

Americans have been trained, like Pavolov's dogs, to get excited over the govt. returning some of their own money to them in a tax refund. Paying less of your income in taxes & keeping more of it through the year, lacks the tax refund high, even if your bottom line is better.
-
I agree with the sentiment, but it's nice getting that little boost every year. I'd love to say I'm discipline enough to set that money aside, but I'm not.

It’s a indictment of beholding taxes from wage earners who have been lulled into judging their tax burden by the refund they get.

It's an indictment on The GOP because the general populace doesn't understand?
-
They really do need to do a better job of marketing. I understand battling MSM is difficult but that just means you gotta figure out how to cut through it.

Maybe in part, mostly it's an indictment of the press.

I had $600 less withheld from my Federal Income Tax since last year, and I am getting $400 more back from the government with my income tax return. So that's $1000 less money the federal government is stealing from me this year. I'm getting all but $700 back. Much better.
-
All I had to do was look at my paycheck and tax form and do a little math. The only way someone who got less couldn't perceive it is if they don't look.

Um ... yes, it’s the MSM constantly saying trump tax cuts only benefits elites, of course furthering the divide among Americans I’m sure you can see that ... right

Perceive or receive? It's a math problem, (and an easy one at that), not a perception . I am an hourly wage earner and paid around $1800 less in federal tax in '18 than I did in' 17. Please with this garbage
