I'm not commenting on that aspect in this Tweet, but I'm not sure why I should be bothered that he was advising a candidate while not actually working as a journalist. If he had written something without disclosing, that's a different story.

Because it's prudent to expect transparency even from candidates (and their staff) with whom we have broad affinity. Sirota was publishing articles and tweeting under the auspices of being an independent journalist until yesterday.
