Interesting post from a former Trump campaign worker who predicts he'll lose in 2020. Seems very plausible to me. Trump has done little to consolidate the normal advantages of presidential incumbency. If anything, he seems to have shed supporthttps://ryandetert.com/tweet-cave-repeat-equals-2020-defeat/ …

Trump’s unconventional communications style has always masked the reality that his presidency has been extremely conventional on a policy level (with a few limited but notable exceptions)

If the economy tanks (there are already some leading indicators of this) it’s very possible that Trump will not even run. I’d maybe put that at 30% probability right now

He's got neo-cons fully in charge of foreign policy...sadly. Criminal justice reform was a good impulse (not familiar with exact details). Economic policy mixed bag. Too much to discuss in short form.

I'll never forget how day one of his presidency he wrote an executive order to end TPP negotiations and now nobody even remembers it.

That was to trump’s credit, but a very rare exception.

Russia probe blackmail joint project by GOP-DNC elite made sure his Admin will be as conventional as ever for the 4 yr term. He knows that GOP is holding the key to a jail Cell with his name on it as a Russian asset (be it totaly made up as it may be) so has to behave & DO gop

Plenty of exceptions. You’re honing in on foreign policy, which is a far deeper quagmire. The Dems moving as far left as they are should be a layup from Trump. Because it’s not like Wang or a real outside will win the nomination. More swampy politicians (yes includes Bernie too)

I don’t know what your looking for. MAGA took over the GOP in 2016, but still to get legislation passed it had to work with the traditional elements that had previously dominated the Party. This included Ryan and McConnell, plus the Koch brothers and the Bushes. Plus...1/2

Close to 30 Trillion dollars have been squandered on dubious economic, foreign adventures & other mismanagement by the last 3 Preseidnts before Trump. And no...that's not counting Congressional screw-ups...this is the squandering of Presidential policy alone. That's conventional
