Whatever the relationship was w/Buttigieg & Tapper- or w/Tulsi & Bash- tells me a lot of what I need to know. If the reporter is friendly, the candidate is establishment. If they're confrontational, they're afraid of that candidate telling the truth & upsetting the status quo.

Mayor Pete apparently had a couple of good sound bites rehearsed. We've seen this movie before. I fell for it with Obama, but no more. I hate to sound pessimistic but I'm not seeing how this ends well with a system so corrupt, propaganda so thick, and voters so gullible.

Raw intelligence doesn't necessarily lend itself to a well-calibrated moral compass *cough* Rachel Maddow *cough*

Cohen Group -> Kerry campaign -> McKinsey -> Naval intelligence service Literally impossible to get more conventional and establishment at age 37 than this guy.

He reminds me of Obama. He is very polished and appealing, but he puts a lot of faith in technocracy, like we just need good managers to stabilize the system. His answer about the Supreme Court was naive (the court can never not be political). His answer on Venezuela was shit.

I was with him for the first 30 seconds (Maduro bad, no military intervention) but then he started talking about the U.S’s “toolkit of democracy” or something like that when referring to sanctions on Venezuela, which left an awful taste in my mouth.

He deserves to stay in the conversation. I’d like to hear more from him, and allow him the time to evolve his positions. He brings a genuine earnest thoughtfulness to politics.

Everyone deserves to be part of the conversation, but I can tell you several of his cheerleaders on here (twitter) remind me of the bad old days of David Brock.

As an outsider, he isn’t privy to all the information needed. He is smart enough to leverage US intelligence in decision making. Good intel may drive a different response. Your point is valid but not of much concern for me at this stage.

Oh no, he failed the dreaded Venezuela litmus test, the only thing that matters

Venezuela is important because it is the latest example of a long, destructive history of US interventions in Latin America and around the world. They are all interconnected by the US desire to maintain its domination of this corrupt world order.

Pete is weak and phony. Tulsi is running because she wants to serve America. Pete is running because he wants to feel good about himself.
