Israel is a regional client state, not an "ally" in the traditional sense of that term. It constantly creates strategic problems for the US, and draws political, economic, and military support wildly out of proportion with what value it provides in returnhttps://twitter.com/DanielLarison/status/1104815867924267008 …

The US has massive intel-technological collaboration with Israel; unlike any country in that region who by the way have ever shifting alliances; Israel however is generally reliable for the US. Plus the money “given” to Israel is actually all spent here in the states. @ggreenwald

At this stage, it would be more accurate to say that America is a client state of Israel.

Simply put - there’s no ROI for us on the low prices we give them military weapons for, the freebies like our intelligence & patents we give them, the huge instability in ME that we help them create, the $3 - $4 billion per year we give them for free, & the lives of our soldiers

When was the last time Israel sent soldiers to fight alongside Americans. We fund them , give them our most sophisticated weapons and they re-engineer them and then sell them on open weapons markets.

The answer that I have been given is that “it would upset the Arabs.” I don’t buy that. Did they send out a survey & respondents answers were: “If I get bombed to death, I prefer it to be a US missile & not an Israeli. I’m all good if Americans kill me.”

Jack Matlock, Reagan's ambassador to Russia, warned against precisely this sort of entanglement in testimony to House Foreign Affairs in June 2016. Committee didn't have slightest interest in his wise counsel. Instead, they fawned over warmonger Michael McFaul.

Which way does the tribute flow? Who dictates to whom? The US is the vassal state.

All systems that can't protect themselves are corrupting influences. Israel didn't think it could protect itself, so it was easier to corrupt the USA into protecting it. FWIW: I think, at this stage, they can protect themselves.

Contrary to your assertion, America is in fact a client state of the International Socialism project, which is essentially Hebrew in origin (and in its present control structure), and which similarly controls Israel.
