Here's an idea -- instead of handicapping the horse race, maybe let's talk about which issues will be the most competitive? Climate change? Income inequality? Health care? Immigration?

Candidate Harris has decided against that line of thought. To date she still has no platform articulated on her election page.

She is currently the "anointed one" for this election cycle and I expect the party elite to pull out all the stops for her. That is unless Beto steals her thunder and gains more traction in the media.
-
Beto just had his comb salad moment. I don't think he's gonna lift off.

Taking the under. I think she's a test balloon candidate. See what talking points sell under the latest Trojan Horse. Or proof that the Democrats really don't want to win.

I love Tulsi’s stand in peace and ending military industrial complex control of our tax money.

Don't know but I guarantee when Kamala places 4th in Iowa and 5th in NH, she's going to blame racism/misogny
-
And it will probably be part of the reason, let’s not pretend otherwise. But I do agree that it would be wise for us all to focus on the issues and policies relentlessly and avoid identity politics debates.

Haven't you heard that she is a front runner?

By the CNN pundits paid in part by Lockheed Martin.

three maybe four ppl who have declared belong in the race so far: Gabbard, Warren, Sanders, Marianne Williamson (sp?). I give all others a very low chance of making past February 2020. 10% if I’m feeling generous. Obviously those with money and fragile egos have better chances.

Yay
@marwilliamson!! She is amazing! I really hope that she and@AndrewYangVFA can get to the dem debates. I think they will bring an amazing new spirit to the discussion.

Honest question from an Australian.. how is the democratic nominee determined? By the party or people?
-
Supposed to be by the people but the party has a lot of ways to rig it. For Sanders to make it his support will have to be overwhelming (since the donors & the party leadership that they prop up hate him).

It will be lights out at the Harris campaign soon. The NYT has realized she is a dud and has written two big pieces already, slamming her. Establishment casting desperately about for credible alternative to Bernie. It's awesome!

Zero. They already have the playbook. They know Sanders is going to win Iowa, NH, and NV. He's going to become the obvious front-runner, and then get brutally attacked in media. Then she wins SC, and CA, and gets treated like the underdog making a comeback. It's already boring.
-
Voter protection is key in CA and SC!

I agree with this analysis as this time. Harris is probably at her lowest until Biden starts campaigning. She’ll siphon a lot of “Never Bernie” voters as Biden loses support. She may drop off, but I think Booker, Gillibrand, and Klobuchar will be out before she is.
-
Except polling shows the #1 second choice of Biden voters is Bernie (and vice versus). Indicates how much name rec (not policy) is driving choice but also that “Never Bernie” Biden supporters are a minority.
