You can keep trying to argue that Ilhan Omar and David Duke are now political allies, but it just makes you look utterly ridiculoushttps://twitter.com/business/status/1104363770095304707 …

Not what the column said. They agree though on the disloyalty of Zionists.

Duke has an elaborate, overtly conspiratorial framework through which he depicts Jews as innately sinister. Omar simply mentioned lobbying money and the fact that politicians espouse fidelity to Israel. Playing this guilt-by-association trick is on-its-face ridiculous.

They both espouse nativism that says Supporting Israel requires your allegiance to Israel. Why defend that?

The notion that Omar has espoused anything close to "nativism" is shockingly absurd, and requires a totally inane distortion of the term. As far as "allegiance," here's Nancy Pelosi (a non-Jew) declaring it:https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1102985099367366657 …

She also supported the Iran deal and your nefarious pro Israel lobby didn’t punish her. Omar, Duke, Buchanan all agree that pro Israel Americans are more loyal to Israel. It’s a double standard applied to no other alliance. Why defend this?

You’re twisting Omar’s words beyond recognition to comport with this unfounded presumption that she is furthering some “dual loyalty” trope. A neutral assessment of both her claims shows them to be 100% defensiblehttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1103707770245865476 …

Michael TraceyVerified account @mtraceyHere are Omar's actual claims: - "Pro-Israel" lobbyists and donors use their considerable financial resources to influence US policy - Politicians frequently profess "allegiance" to Israel and expect others to do the same Both of these claims are 100% unassailably true2 replies 4 retweets 9 likes -

What does allegiance mean if not loyalty. You’re the one twisting her words.

It means professing political, cultural, and religious fidelity to Israel, which politicians of every stripe do all the time

But that is not what allegiance means. It means professing loyalty to a superior. Why defend that?

In a non-hyper literal sense, it means professing devotion to a cause. Innumerable politicians and donors are certainly not bashful about processing their devotion to the cause of Israel
