I defy anyone to seriously argue that this statement from Pelosi could constitute anything other than a declaration of "allegiance." No, she doesn't swear a formal oath, but she makes her eternal, unbreakable commitment to Israel 100% clear. Omar was righthttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1102985099367366657 …

I'll say it again: the majority of the political figures to which Omar's description is applicable are non-Jews: secular hawks, Evangelical Christians, and various others whose "allegiance" to Israel is often more vociferous than Jews. This point gets totally obscured

CAIR helped raise funds for Hamas (see the Holy Land Foundation case), an entity that wants to make Israel a sheet of glass. CAIR also helped fund Ilhan's campaign. How far apart do you think Ilhan's ideology is from that of CAIR and Hamas.

Ilhan Omar is arguing that congressional support for Israel is driven by a powerful Israel lobby, pouring money into political campaigns and influencing foreign policy, a myth which has been thoroughly debunked.https://mobile.twitter.com/OrenBalaban/status/1096063183540928512 …

Strong support for Israel vs. dual loyalty trope. Two very different things.

It would be nice if Pelosi had even a smidgen of that commitment to the good of the nation that put her in office.

C’mon. What she said was atrocious, even if veiled in a debatable point.

Omar should just say that calling her antisemitic is racist. And then watch the fireworks. Its clearly not, but neither is what she said antisemitic. So watching peeps tie themselves in knots justifying one ridiculous assertion while rejecting another could be fun

You're trying very hard to ignore what else Omar also said.
