As in the UK, if a “split” emerges here it’d be worthwhile, because it would expose the real divisions that have been too long buried under a mountain of false consensushttps://twitter.com/jonathanchait/status/1102997796838350849 …

Anti-Semitism split the Labour party. Can it happen here? I used to think no. Now I am less confident. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/03/ilhan-omar-anti-semitism-democrats-labor-corbyn.html …

It'd mostly be the neoliberal establishment (pro Israel, war, austerity, etc.) separating with the progressive base (green new deal, M4A, etc.). Only difference is that progressives are the minority in the US.

uk is still mired in neoconservatism. Guys like Max boot are considered a joke here but could probably be listened to regarding Syria or something over there

But it’s not true that the Labour Party has been split by “anti-Semitism.” If it where true, then the fracture would create two groups, one containing only anti-Semites and the other with everyone else. However, that isn’t where the split is. It’s about left vs. right.

Just curious, do you think Corbyn is an anti-Semite? Or any prominent figures for that matter? You are the only person I follow that is skeptical of anti-semitic claims and I'd like to hear your threshold.

UK split is regarding brexit. They are using anti-semitism as an excuse to. Though abhorrent, it has existed in Labour for a long time... Only @lucianaberger seems legitimately concerned about it.

It's not a false consensus. The overwhelming majority of the country is pro-Israel, across party lines. You're the one who's exposing yourself.

Is there an adult of average intelligence who does not know that is about israeli coercion so that they remain uncriticised while wiping out palestine? I do not support Labour or even socialism btw.

If the Democrats™ throw @IlhanMN under the bus, she should ditch them and become the first @GreenPartyUS Congressman. It's not like she got elected to get reelected like the rest of them, and it'd make @SpeakerPelosi-s head explode.
