      Michael Tracey Retweeted Ilhan Omar

The irony is that Omar is one of the few elected officials *accurately characterizing* the relationship between the US and Israel. She correctly notes that donors and activists with allegiance to that foreign state use financial power to influence policyhttps://twitter.com/IlhanMN/status/1102297465502474240 …

I have not mischaracterized our relationship with Israel, I have questioned it and that has been clear from my end.

What about the other $47B in aid to other countries? Egypt? Ethiopa? South Sudan?

It's called context. Aid to a single country should be considered in the context in which we give aid to all other countries. Why focus on Israel alone?

It is always a problem when moneyed lobby groups use their financial power to aid countries that engage in activities that are not consistent with our value. Egypt does not have the same degree of moneyed groups influencing our gvmnt decisions.

I believe @Timcast was bringing it up because treating Israel *differently* is of much more consequence that providing resources of one type or other. Genuinely interested in hearing people more informed than me answer discuss this topic.

If a certain political dynamic is commented upon in one realm, all other similar dynamics should be taken into consideration, otherwise one is cherry-picking.
