In the context of American social life, immigrant communities are fundamentally more insular than any average American. That is what makes them immigrant 'communities'.

Is that the point at all? It qualifies as gaslighting to tell Omar that she suffers from effects of an insular community when she is describing a real problem of Israel's influence over American politics.
