    Michael Tracey Retweeted NBC News

Using the plight of grieving parents to undermine diplomatic relations is gross. What happened to Otto is tragic, but there's strong reason to believe that he attempted suicide while in custody, and very little reason to believe he was physically torturedhttps://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/1101495167494836231 …

BREAKING: Parents of Otto Warmbier speak out after President Trump's comments on Kim Jong Un and responsibility for Warmbier's death: "Kim and his evil regime are responsible for the death of our son Otto ... No excuses or lavish praise can change that." https://nbcnews.to/2EGGTql  pic.twitter.com/XRftw6jzqd

If you have never heard this before, and have just heard the most alarmist propagandistic version of what occurred, you're not alone. Here you go:https://www.gq.com/story/otto-warmbier-north-korea-american-hostage-true-story …

You raise interesting points. The thing is, Otto was under their charge. If he attempted suicide, what did they do to put him in such a state of mind and then leave him alone long enough to harm himself for a poster?

I hear you on the physical torture and the undermine. But he was probably mentally tortured which might have lead to his death.

If the roles were reversed, and an NK person was in the US, you’d be the first one demanding answers from our government. Play both sides fairly. Be a journalist, not a talking head.

The most absurd part of this is the implication that every bad foreign leader is a comic-book villain who has total, robotic control over every person in his country. Did LBJ order My Lai? Did W order Abu Ghraib? Did Hitler order the 20 July assassination attempt? Absurd.

You make it sound like North Korea built concentration camps where millions have died at the instruction of some low level janitor, and not as a conscious effort by the governmental leadership.
