Why is he still around? He's nothing but a chicken hawk! There's never been a war he doesn't love...

Old neocons are like the Freddy Kruger/Jason bad guys from the 1980 movies. They just won't stay down.

I think there's a strong argument for the "good cop bad cop" dynamic he brings to the administration and negotiations.

It’s a good take. I’m old enough to remember when Kim threatened to nuke Guam.

Even without Bolton, N. Korea isn't going to forget that the US Military dropped more bombs on them then they did on everyone during WW2. And US bombed their dams, hospitals and 80% of their major cities. And WE go to them DEMANDING THEY STAND DOWN!??!?!?!?!?

That is the EXCACT reason he should be there! The only reason NK is at the table is because they are afraid we’ll take them out. THAT is our leverage! How well did weakness work for any other president who tried with NK??? Peace through strength!!

This is all a movie. It's been decided long ago. It's scripted. Trump will conclude with great news when it's most politically optimal. Chains removed.pic.twitter.com/ciAwTYIaIX

Trump appointed him to that position though. You can't continue to pretend that this isn't Trump's fault.
-
Of course it's ultimately Trump's fault for appointing him to the position. But it was due to Trump's personal initiative that these negotiations even started in the fist place. That's why it's warranted to make distinctions between parts of the Administration.

It's a better article than his "nuke of the week" series and that "C'mon just pick a country at random and PUSH THE BUTTON!!!"

from a writer's point of view
@JohnBoltonNH reference to the British forces (1837) intervention in US territorial waters is weak; ref. to Israeli interventions in Iraq & Syria much stronger; that said, sure, he was an irritant to@kimiljong /talks: no doubtpic.twitter.com/ALfwxwssgm
