This is such an insane and illiberal talking point. How dare the media undermine our Dear Leader's bold international diplomacy by [checks notes] reporting on sworn testimony before Congress accusing him of committing crimes?https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1100967497656864768 …

The personal lawyer of the President of the United States testifying under oath about the Presidents personal involvement in the commission of multiple felonies is not in any universe merely a "petty domestic melodrama".

It is if you’re a Trump supporter or a subtle Trump supporter.

Yes those journos should give the manufactured photo op the respect it deserves.

Yeah, take your cue from the President, who didn't mention Cohen at all during the summit!

ONLY reason the media is treating this summit this way is because it's VERY clear Trump has no intention of doing any real negotiating except for beach property he can build international hotels on in exchange for letting NK do whatever the hell it wants with it's nukes. Period.

So, Trump could have gotten a denuke deal if the media had paid less attention to Cohen's testimony? Is... is that how diplomacy works nowadays?

You're being totally dishonest. No one is trying to "connect" Cohen and Hanoi. Reporters in Vietnam may have gone off-script (which you clearly take issue with), but there was no insinuation that Cohen had anything to do with the Summit, or vice versa.

Before I read that tweet, I thought Acosta was the most narcissistic of the pack. His question on day 1 was embarrassing. And he obviously hasn't been tuned into East Asian & Korean broadcasts, or been mingling with the citizen riffraff.

It’s actually what South Korean journalists point out when they criticize US “establishment media”.

insanity the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness. synonyms: mental illness, mental disorder, mental derangement, madness, insaneness, dementia, dementedness, lunacy, instability, unsoundness of mind, loss of reason; extreme foolishness or irrationality.
-
The definition of insanity would be reasonable to use in the case of someone dismissing reason, in order to call an argument insane without providing a reason as to why.
