This is incorrect. The June 12, 2016 interview with @Peston was 2 days before the DNC hack was reported. Assange was asked if he had any of Clinton's own emails from her private server and replied, cryptically: “We have emails relating to Hillary Clinton." https://youtu.be/__HRN6eot18 https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1100813515718316033 …

No, there's nothing incorrect about my tweet. Be more specific about what you claim is "incorrect," or retract.

Massie said that the existence of the hacked DNC emails Stone told Trump and Cohen about in July 2016 had been made public by Assange in June 2016, but that is not correct - he just hinted that he had some emails so your claim that he 'corrected the record' is incorrect.

Cohen claims that Stone told Trump in late July 2016 that damaging emails on Hillary were due to be released soon. Assange publicly acknowledged the existence of such emails as early as June 2016. So Massie did "correct the record," and your tweet is the one that's misleading.

No, Assange did not say reveal in June that he had what Massie called "those emails," the ones stolen from the DNC by Russian intelligence, that Wikileaks released in July. Look at The Guardian report Massie held up and submitted as evidence - it was about Clinton's own email:pic.twitter.com/83POpCFRW8

Regardless of the Guardian report's wording, "We have emails relating to Hillary Clinton which are pending publication" is what Assange told Peston in June 2016. So Massie was correct to note that it was publicly known that Assange had announced possession of additional emails.

But it is misleading to suggest that anyone knew what Assange had in June, and that it was "old news" by July, which is what Massie claimed. ITV's own report on the interview also shows it was widely assumed that June that Assange had said he had her email https://www.itv.com/news/2016-06-12/julian-assange-wikileaks-plans-to-release-more-private-emails-sent-by-hillary-clinton/ …pic.twitter.com/tSVTcA0Ai3

It's generally better to go based on what Assange actually said than on second-hand characterizations. Assange's quote in June 2016 is confirmation that he publicly announced forthcoming publications of emails related to Hillary Clinton.

That is correct; what I am saying is clearly incorrect is the implication, by Massie, that it was public knowledge after Assange's June 12, 2016 ITV interview that he had the hacked DNC emails, which were not Clinton's own. Everyone assumed then, incorrectly, that he had those.

Cohen's characterization of the conversation between Stone and Trump makes no specific reference to the DNC emails. Simply makes reference to damaging emails on Hillary Clinton.pic.twitter.com/968Kr6MMMQ

The question is not what Cohen said about this call, it is whether or not Stone, on behalf of Trump, found out about the timing of the release of the DNC emails hacked by Russia and given to WL. It is incorrect to say it was widely known in June that Assange had those emails.

It also doesn’t make any sense that Cohen would say a bunch of rumors about Trump weren’t true, but make up a phone call (especially since Mueller has call records). More likely Stone is lying.
