And I'd have more respect for you if you didn't put scare quotes around humanitarian aid. It's literally a bunch of food and medicine. It is being sent *in part* to put pressure on Maduro, but that doesn't make it not literally a bunch of food and medicine.

No, it’s being sent entirely as a mechanism for toppling the government. If you believe John Bolton, Mike Pence, and Elliott Abrams are innocently concerned about the welfare of the Venezuelan people, you are simply deluding yourself

Trump and Bolton have both said they want Venezuela's oil. Quote from Bolton: “It will make a big difference to the United States economically if we could have American oil companies invest in and produce the oil capabilities in Venezuela,” Bolton told Fox News

Well FWIW Trump has gone on record - in the past - for advocating conflict with V. because of their oil reserves.

The US doesn't need Venezuelan oil:https://money.cnn.com/2018/09/12/investing/us-oil-production-russia-saudi-arabia/index.html …

If we cared about the people of Venezuela we would lift the crippling economic sanctions on their country. The purpose of the Aid is to further divide the country against Maduro with the ultimate goal being his head. It's not even thinly veiled.

What, in your opinion, is the motivation to topple the Venezuelan government?

Regime change in a foreign country *is* a war crime. I have not much respect no matter how they do it.

Because folks are not starving in Venezuela, and delivering much needed aid will not highlight to the populace there is hope? How many local, starving regime change advocates will it take to change your mind?
-
Russians and China are already giving aid. The Trump regime wants Maduro to accept Trojan horses loaded with weaponry in the form of food etc.

I think you're missing the big picture which is that Venezuela is literally starving and so they would be happy to get food from anyone.
-
You are wrong. Venezuela doesn't need aid. They could buy all the food and medicine they need with the funds in accounts that are frozen.

I beg to differ, Venezuelans have been coming to Florida for years, investing in real estate to try and preserve their wealth. This didn't just start yesterday, this has been a slow collapse ongoing for years.

I can’t understand what your beef is. I’m fine with them taunting that jerk of a leader and encouraging the aid trucks to get through. Nobody’s nuking them.
