The reasoning Andrew McCabe gives for his investigation of Trump often sounds like it was lifted from a David Frum article in The Atlantic. It's exceedingly obvious that media-generated hysteria is what guided a lot of his decision-making.

McCabe reinforces this when states (on multiple occasions so far during the book tour) that his "counter-intelligence investigation" into whether Trump posed a "national security threat" was spurred by public information, including Trump's tweets. That's right... the tweets

Exactly. He says there's no non-public info which precipitated the post-Comey firing counter-intel investigation. He does, however, cite tweets

Now factor in that he and others he was coordinating with at the DOJ/FBI were using the practice of 'strategic leaking' to help start up much of that media hysteria... He's not just making use of media hysteria based on leaks, he's playing a direct role in the leaks themselves.

He leaks lies and phony dossier material to the press, then says, "Have you seen this stuff in the papers??? We better investigate." What a maroon.

They may have created the media-generated hysteria as well. A large portion of the media simply regurgitates whatever they are told by current/former government officials, especially within the Intel Community.

I hope someday a study examines the mass collective abdication of reason & hysteria so many shared (and still share) during that period. That’s the underlying story that connects so much. Intel & law enforcement should be most skeptical, but their partisanship poisoned them.

I'm not watching any of it, but is anyone asking about the $600K his wife received from McAuliffe? According to #WaPo, renting a room at the Trump hotel guarantees an ambassadorship, so $600K must have an impact.

Not really since the FBI were the ones who leaked the info to the media in the first place. They created the hysteria intentionally. The question is for what purpose?

I think what you are missing is that the information campaign conducted by Fusion GPS on behalf of Hilary and the DNC included using McCabe’s/FBI leaks to friendly media outlets to spread the message to a wide public audience. Which continues today.
