She also specifically admitted that she TURNED OVER A SOURCE TO THE FBI, proactively and voluntarily. This is supposed to be one of the worst sins of journalism: unforgivable treachery. But her rationale was barely even scrutinized. Instead, she was celebrated. Embarrassing.

Here she admits that her collaborative activities were "appreciated" by the Special Counsel's office. I'm sure.https://twitter.com/emptywheel/status/1098426284244377601 …

Here's part of the rationale she gave for her flabbergasting journalistic decision, on July 3, 2018, after concealing her FBI collaboration for many months. It was basically a patriotic thing, you see.pic.twitter.com/hYsOXCtx23

While she makes this massive "disclosure" on her blog posts, it's not disclosed in her various media appearances where she's promoted as an authority on Mueller. Nor has the fact that she has a *direct, personal stake* in the investigation been adequately scrutinizedpic.twitter.com/O5jvMjqoTa

It’s a cult, Michael. Cult leaders are never wrong no matter what they say or do.

What I'm most galled by is the fact that she was largely *celebrated* for this by fellow journalists, who in any other context would've denounced what she did as an obvious disgrace

All this journalistic maleficence you comment on is due to what? I would say the evolution of reporters to activist. As activists, journalists & reporters can rationalize breaking the ethical standards that once existed or at least was claimed to exist in the name of objectivity

This assumes you know what she spoke to the FBI about. If you do, enlighten us.

How many U.S. journalists routinely collaborate with elements of the FBI/CIA? I bet the number exceeds 500.

She's provided that disclaimer/disclosure FOR MONTHS
-
And has her rationale ever been adequately scrutinized? Has the fact that she's personally invested in the Mueller investigation ever been seriously scrutinized? How about the the fact that she hid her collaboration for many months?
