The Federalist asked me to write a piece on why Bernie is the strongest Democratic candidate, so that's what I didhttp://thefederalist.com/2019/02/19/naysayers-wrong-bernie-sanders-formidable-2020-contender/ …

Is The Federalist a well-known conservative website? Yes. But I had complete control over what I wrote -- I even criticized Trump/GOP in the piece. And anyway, I appreciate writing opportunities that don't involve "preaching to the choir."

Predictably, trolls are moaning about the publisher rather than the content of what was published. I doubt a single one of the people complaining have actually read the piece.

I'd written before that Bernie is the strongest candidate (see: https://spectator.us/bernie-sanders-democratic-front-runner/ …) and I was asked to expound on that thesis. Really, there's no conspiracy or "horseshoe" explanation beyond that. But if you want to wildly speculate, go for it I guess.

Genuine question : How are @SenSanders and @RandPaul who pointedy label themselves as Independents, able to run for POTUS under the guise of the @DNC and @GOP?

Bernie is not a Democrat. He is an Independent. If you don’t believe me just look at how he is in US Senate ..see that D-VT that means Democrat. I-VT means Independent. You’re welcome for this tutorial on the senators from Vermont.pic.twitter.com/9ZS2H2dw3C

Interestingly, a go-to tactic of Trump when arguing for or against something is "appeal to authority" so basically saying why famous or important person/institution X supports or opposes Y rather than remotely addressing substance of topic. Common con-man tactic.

My only criticism is that you never mentioned his policies. I think he stands no chance because he stands for massive government and identity politics first and foremost. Maybe in the Dem primary, but Trump would win even more of the EC than he did in 2016

Bernie Sander would win the presidency if he was the Democratic candidate. If he is not he should run as an independent not back down and support the centrist pick.

I am not voting for any centrist/neolib in 2020. Sanders or no vote. Michael stayed home in 2016, he'll probably do that again if they screw this up.
