Her initial point re mincing words when describing hate crimes is spot on, even if the facts of this particular case are now in question. STILL, the mistake was assuming the story was valid in the 1st place, so shouldn't she wait until things are resolved before commenting again?

Entertainment Tonight was CORRECT to use "minced words" with respect to this incident (AOC objected to the use of the word "possible").

She's taking issue with the way that "this attack" was reported (Entertainment Tonight used the word "possible," which proved wise on their part, despite her consternation) and making factual proclamations about its nature, which have now been cast in extreme doubt.

No, this statement absolutely still rings true. No need to clarify at all. This is an incredibly far reaching and silly critique, makes you look silly. Kind of thing that makes you an easy target.
-
Huh? How does the statement "ring true" if the attack she's opining on was a hoax?

If AOC wanders too far down the path of truth-blind identity politics..with disregard for accurate truth-telling..her brand will ultimately become bland and unappealing to many who think/thought/hoped she might be part of a solution(not perpetuation of the problem). A risky path.

It's funny that the same people that reject things like biological sex being a complete binary one or the other in favour of a spectrum of feelings and what-ifs are also the people pushing for "hate" to be treated as a simple yes/no or for/against system.

What about AOC has led you to think she would ever admit to being wrong about anything?

Do you clarify the lies you spew like the assertion of ‘fact’ that you were shoved? Also, at least she was misled and can clarify that. What are you gonna say— my prefrontal cortex misled the rest of my cerebrum?

She is doing so much good, but I worry that her "wokeness" will be exploited by establishment elites with a right wing agenda. Not so much with this tweet, but they have already gotten her to legitimize bogus anti-semitism smears against Corbyn and Omar.
