Yes, but this is at least partly because media and even Senate Republicans, bless their hearts, would somehow get even more histrionic if anything were done.

Whatever the reasons, it’s a sign of Trump’s larger problem with impotence and being hamstrung, which is a recurring theme of his tenure.

This also explains why Trump is allowing the Bolton/Pompeo/NeoCon gang to lead us to new wars in both hemispheres & sabotage Trump's orders to withdraw from Syria & Afghanistan. Trump simply isn't in charge. He is extremely weak.

I'm pretty sure Trump has been more than willing to condone the Venezuela coup

Mike I think you're over your head on this one, and are failing spectacularly to see this from the correct angle. What's a viable alternative version of what you're describing? It'd have to be that Rosenstein and Trump are not at odds, and that Rod did NOT plot a coup, right?

So, you believe what McCabe is saying, even though he lost his job for lying? Kinda doesn't make sense.

Trump said neither him nor Pompeo believed McCabe's 'wire' story. RR once called Trump 'Lincolnesque.' Trump nominated RR's friend, Brett Kavanaugh, to the Supreme Court. Trump hasn't fired Rosenstein and has been complimentary of him. NO REASON for RR to want to take down POTUS.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Yep, plus I think Mueller and his ilk have been hoping, if not baiting, for Trump to do something as drastic as firing Rosenstein.

I think you're all wrong on Rosenstein. He was there a matter of weeks. He didn't launch shit. McCabe is lying about him. His comment was sarcastic rage in response to McCabe pushing him to do more to "get" Trump.

Is it just Rosenstein + few cronies = culprits? It's institutionalized, saturated in 3 letter agencies...after Bush1, BClinton, Bush2, BO, HClinton. After 1913 and bfore, really. Think firing RR would be a brilliant move? Not if you want to purge and restore.
