Head of the FBI and second-in-command at the DOJ plotting to "wear a wire" in the White House so they can collect damaging information on the president in order to remove him from office. What exactly would you call that if not conspiracy to launch an administrative coup?

It’s definitely highly irregular, unprofessional and dangerous. I don’t think people understand just how insane they are by talking like this. They’re talking about destroying America just because Trump is mean and on the other team.

God I hate defending cops. There is an investigation. This method was proposed, they observed proper protocol and decided it was inappropriate. Meanwhile DHS imprisoned children. WTF

The man is a crook, a p***y grabber, and has accrued quite a long list of impeachable offenses. His campaign chair, inter alia, is in jail. He cozys up to Putin in exchange for stolen emails. Plays golf during his nat. emergency. I'd investigate too.

You can’t create a crime out of thin air. The crime must come first, then the investigation. In this case they had no crime, so were not justified in illicit spying. Even a President has rights.

Wouldn't spying on the president create a mess with clearances on classified information?

I was a Navy spook. Do you know the levels you would have to jump through to get a wire legally into a place that discusses such highly classified info as the WH? This ain't a rogue op.

You have to look at people's actions in context. Before Comey was fired, there were already ongoing counter-intelligence and criminal investigations. The FBI has the duty to complete them. It's not going to allow them to be quashed, especially by a subject of the investigations.
