Talking point used to delegitimize criticism of Israel: "Why do you focus so much on this tiny little country, as opposed to X, Y, and Z?" Uhh, because they're a chief US client state, I'm a US citizen, and there's a powerful political apparatus dedicated to enabling its crimes

Remember the focus on Grenada? We were repeatedly told that IT (and developments in it) posed a SECURITY threat to the people of the United States. So did Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala. The absurdity of it all . . .

Just a small point: Take into consideration what Israeli scientists and doctors have done for the world. Now compare that with other allies. Their breakthroughs in innovations, medicine, treatments, etc have been beneficial for humankind.
-
That's completely irrelevant. You could say the same thing about American scientists and doctors, but it would carry no weight as a deflection from criticism of US government policy.

I wonder how a poll of US citizens would come out if the question was “do you support giving Israel xbillion $ to shoot unarmed people?”

Hope you're aware, Michael, that guys like Weinstein are holding the swift sabre of 'antisemitism' over your head, ready to strike at any moment if you dare talk too boldly, or irreverently, about the issue.
