Absolutely! Do that. Because the single biggest story in the
right now is the meta story that journalism refuses to break. That is, we gave protected LEGAL status to a profession (journalism) that needs to be *revoked* if it will no longer follow its ethics in the Twitter era.

I’d be interested to hear it. I don’t know what these words mean to you.

Objectivity in the journalistic sense tends to connote a false ideology whereby adherents pretend to have no political preferences. Impartiality mandates adopting consistent analytical standards. Which is why I find the discourse around Israel so maddening, especially re: the IDW

@mtracey you aren’t making sense. Empiricism, skepticism, & fair mindedness actually describe objectivity. https://niemanreports.org/articles/an-argument-why-journalists-should-not-abandon-objectivity/ … A journalist’s goal is to provide an objective (unbiased) account of an event. https://ethicaljournalismnetwork.org/who-we-are/aims-objectives-activities …Thanks. Can you describe what distinction you're making between impartiality and objectivity, please,, because I cannot see your point. That being said, a common riposte I'm seeing from both the left and right is that the commentator is being blinded by their unconscious political biases

I ventured into a Peterson thread thinking, in a somewhat starry eyed way, I could engage in constructive dialogue. The replies often consisted of calling me a left wing ideologue. https://twitter.com/Shivviness/status/1096318207466573824 … This specious debate tactic is rapidly spreading beyond political topics
