If FBI really believed they had evidence that the president was "compromised," the correct course of action would be to notify Congress, which can then initiate impeachment proceedings, so the evidence can be evaluated by the public: rather than by a secret cabal of bureaucrats

The argument becomes moot if evidence shows that it would ultimately do nothing based on how they have acted after when Trump took over. If it was raised to Congress, Republicans would have framed it as the Deep State trying to remove the president like they did before midterms

The Constitution does not give officials at the FBI power over the President and Congress. We are supposed to be a nation governed under the rule of law, not the rule of men. This incident is very similar to the illegal coup attempt taking place in Venezuela right now.
