My working theory: the more candidates who run, the better it is for Bernie. Put another way: the greater the number of candidates, the smaller the plurality he'll need to win Iowa / NH, which is the focus at the moment. He clearly has the firmest "base"https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/1095692927836319744 …

Hi, folks. We're likely to end up with something like *20* Democratic candidates for president. Here's my argument that this is a big deal. I think people are neglecting the possibility of 🌀ChAoS🌀. https://53eig.ht/2GGuiVq

So he should welcome the entrance of 20+ candidates -- even candidates who appear to be somewhat similar to him ideologically. Fact is, Bernie's personal appeal is unique and the core base of support he cultivated in 2016 isn't going anywhere

The fact that #MedicareForAll has 70% support but Bernie doesn't have 70% support just proves how effective propaganda is.

Very interesting. Tulsi Gabbard, the only Democratic presidential candidate who has full Kremlin support and who praised Syria's Assad, has hired Chris Cooper of Potomoc Square Group, the same DC fixer who the Russians hired to smear me and Sergei Magnitsky in 2016. Coincidence? https://twitter.com/realchrissyg/status/1095519123478478849 …

This is exactly how @realDonaldTrump won his primary. A crowded field favors the candidate least identical to the herd.https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1095698135115067395 …

Tulsi would siphon off a few votes. I’m still crossing my fingers for a Bernie-Tulsi ticket 😬

yes but also it's going to be challenging for big donor candidates to maintain their fundraising if they aren't winning anything. republicans had a crowded field in 2016 but cruz/kasich didn't even make it to the convention because they ran out of money.

Does anyone seriously pay attention to @NateSilver538 anymore? Anyone can analyze voting trends and demographics and become reasonably decent at “prognosticating”.

I disagree. Cali will be used in place of NH/Iowa which favors Harris. The narrative will be that Cali represents the diversity of the country and NH/Iowa is just to white. The Super Delegates will whisper into the ears of the pundit class on how Harris has it wrapped up.

A lot ran last time but did they actually make it to the primary? No. There will be 6 or less before any actual voting starts.
