If you actually read what I said at the time, which I doubt you have, you'd know that I never said they didn't have a "right to be afraid." What I objected to was the way the media extrapolated the bomb threats into a wider, hysterical narrative, on the basis of no evidence.

Journalistically, "having the scent of something" is not good enough when it comes to making frantic proclamations about the nature of threats, especially when those proclamations later prove to be false. Charlottesville and Pittsburgh are separate issues.
