AOC pivoting to a superfluous attack on Trump (even if technically accurate) is a deflection from how this ginned up, cynical controversy really arose: cowardly Dem leadership uniting to condemn Omar in a matter of hours, thereby validating the craven, cynical attacks against her

AOC also tacitly concedes that Omar's tweets were anti-semitic, which they were not. So she is also now implicated in this giant mess.

This - coincidentally, I’m sure 🙄 - after the NYTmes orchestrated a smear against her and Jeremy Corbyn just a few days ago. This is disingenuous, self-preservation damage control on her part and I am saddened by it.

Recall last week when AOC tacitly gave credence to people screaming that Corbyn was an anti-semite.

AOC is less radical than Kucinich ever was. Things won't change unless people are willing to break with the rancid Dem party. Imagine she and Omar de-registered and set up a radical caucus outside of Dems?

I think there was/is hope among these 3 women (AOC, Tlaib, Omar) that they will shake up the Dem Party. 2 of them have been rebuked and 1 is hoping that her key initiative GND, will be widely embraced. If GND is rebuked, all 3 will realize they only have themselves to work with.

The Dems are slowly going to let them end up on an island just the three of them all by themselves and if you don't think that's going to happen you haven't been paying attention to the Dems through the years

Pelosi and Schumer came out of the gates strong on day one to “protect” a lobbying group, but universal single payer doesn’t get their attention at all. In case anyone was confused as to who our politicians work for, it’s obvious: AIPAC and other donor factions.pic.twitter.com/TBrvfGi0zM

She’s in a tight spot. She’s trying to defend her by saying basically: she apologized, can we move on?There’s a problem with this movement taking on too much too fast. There’s: big pharma, insurance companies, big oil, Wall Street, DNC, etc. U can find urself in too many battles

This is so true. Rightly or wrongly, many of those who view this as anti-Semitic are also our allies on too many other important issues, many of them economic.

AOC is flat out saying Omar is guilty of a grievous offense. Her and Trump are both racist -- but hey -- at least Omar apologized, unlike Trump. That's AOC's take

I'm VERY sure @AOC didn't do that w/out Omar's approval first. That doesn't make it right, but don't make it look like she stabbed her in the back. Omar shouldn't have caved. This whole incident REALLY hurt both of them. @AOC is getting a ton of negative pushback on this, I hear.

I have to admit. I'm quite a fan of AOC - but *not* a fan of this reaction. Mathemagician may be right. We don't know what discussions were made behind the scenes re: which battles to fight, which ones to let go. But do that enough and one's no better than the corporates. TBD.

If I had a bunch of POC tell me something was racist, I would listen...not argue. Hope people would listen if a bunch of LGBT folks said something was homophobic/transphobic. Too many people (in every party) don’t take time to listen when Jews saying something is anti-Semitic
