Planned Parenthood, teachers' unions, and law enforcement associations are examples of other interest groups who use financial contributions to exert influence over political candidates and public policy. See? Not hard to acknowledge these things.

Funny that no one on the left thinks planned parenthood or unions are paying off democrats, but any republican who takes money is being bought by special interest. Maybe people just want to see pols who agree with them funded for reelection.
-
Planned Parenthood and unions obviously exert financial power as a means of influencing political candidates and public policy.

You have the causal relationship backwards. They supposed politicians who support Israel, just like I contribute and vote for politicians who the support issues I favor. AIPAC spent $10 million last year, in an election that saw billions spent. Drop in the bucket.
-
Even if you were right, those dollars are presumably used to help candidates they "just liked anyway" get elected. Furthermore, a politician is more likely to feel some sense of reciprocity towards a big donor and to be more willing to hear their thoughts on particular issues.

The non-financial reasons are more troublesome. I’m comforted by good old fashioned corruption

Then the question should be about all the groups influencing policy not just the ones you don't agree with.

Is it possible that Omar has ulterior motives for singling out Jewish influence? Does she have a responsibility to clarify her position?

Why is she singling out Jewish money? Why isn’t she calling out Islamist money, of which she is most certainly a recipient?

None of these people know the history of palestine/israel and the reasons of historical decisions regarding it and they don't care to learn it. Or they do and they are just lairs.

So I guess the US govt. is a prostitute that will do anything for money with any John who comes along? Or maybe lady liberty slips a mickey in their drink & takes off with the wallet & watch & the donors wake up with nothing but soiled trousers & a splitting headache?

If I say “Saudis spend money to influence US politics” it isn’t islamaphobic. Why are the rules different for Israel lobbies?
