Opposition leader who has not enough popular support to even do a coup without inviting foreign army perhaps should not be recognized as legitimate president by anybody.

The current leader enjoys the support of just 11% of the population. Even the UN observers refused to certify the election in 2016. And most of Americas has come out in support of the interim President including Brazil, Mexico, US, Canada, Argentina as have 12 EU countries.

It's called "promoting democracy." Just like every other time the United States interfered in another country.

Well sure, but I don't think the US has any mind to intervene in that manner. Maduro has to go but that would be stunningly destabilizing and likely lay the groundwork for blowback later (even though Venezuelan support for our position is quite popular.)

Yes! The US has a long history of wanting to help the people of the world with only the purest motives. Look at how grateful they are in Libya, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. The people of these countries don't know what they would have done without US 'help'.

@TulsiGabbard please continue to speak out. We see the MIC’s brazen attempts to smear you as the did@realDonaldTrump with Russiagate. More of us are with you and see the naked propaganda for what it is.#FullOfSchiff#HANNITY#BestPresidentEverThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Honestly, if war was more horrific, we'd engage in it less often.

so maduro, whose party is so outnumbered in the assembly he had to make a new, unconstitutional legislative body to advance his authoritarian agenda, and who has wholly stripped democratic power from the people, should be let alone?

What countries have an “opposition leader”? Only reason to use the term coup is because a strongman is not willingly giving up his throne as the people want.
