    Michael Tracey Retweeted Reuters Politics

We are witnessing the US attempting to facilitate a coup in real-time, and almost no one in the entire media/political class has anything remotely skeptical to say about it. Shameful, especially given the history of US foreign policy in Latin Americahttps://twitter.com/ReutersPolitics/status/1093992320721141760 …

The media/political class has spent more than two deranged years screaming about Russian Facebook memes and Twitter trolls -- supposedly world-altering "foreign interference" -- but has nothing to say about the US directly seeking to topple a government. Frauds, all of them

Corbyn has made a token statement but it seems like everyone is scared to call it out for what it is. Thankfully @TulsiGabbard and @DerbyChrisW are two of the leading political voices. We need more!

They wasted all that time, money, and energy hiding these things and it turns out that everyone is so transfixed by reality TV that they don't even care anyway. Imagine what they could have done in the 50's if Jersey Shore had been on instead of Andy Griffith.

Michael, it’s because this isn’t a coup. Maduro dissolved the elected congress and NAMED their replacements thus becoming an illegitimate president. The legit congress named its speaker (Juan Guaidó) as interim president and here we are, pls stop calling this a coup!!!

Confucius said, "When words lose their meaning people lose their liberty." The meaning of the word "media" conjures thoughts of investigative journalism and impartial reporting, but what that word "media" actually means today is corporate and state sponsored propaganda.

That's still a blatant interference in internal affairs of a foreign nation. Let alone the fact that the last few countries in which the US was "encouraging peaceful solutions" have been plunged into chaos.

There are many places around the world where living conditions are bad. Why does this one justify military force? Have you seen the kids in Yemen? How much of a dictator can Maduro be if Guiado is still running around free trying flip military officers for his coup?
