How mad is
@Acosta he wasn't in that ad? You know he has to be on the phone with his agent right now -
If Acosta has an agent? It says everything we need to know about what a joke “journalism “ is today...

That's because dollars aren't as important as influence Jeff Bezos has all the dollars and then some. But he doesn't have enough influence

Journalism is the only profession that routinely uses airtime to announce their positive attributes (reliable, unbiased, accurate, trusted) instead of actually having to be that way.

I know it's fallacious to dismiss the moralizing of billionaires, but it's really hard to take this stuff seriously. The message is true, of course, but when it's offered up by the powerful & well-connected it results in cynicism regarding "truth" & other lofty ideals.

Bezos blowing millions on a 30-second Super Bowl ad affects him as much financially as when I order an extra appetizer at PF Chang’s.

Even before mass media.. I believe mass media is a symptom, not the cause that many people believe it to be. The media just adds another layer to a problem that always been there for large portions (not all) of humanity. So the question is, if not for the media...

Whose paper is not an example of journalism worth defending. You can’t defend a travesty by appeal to an ideal. The ideal should first be used to reform the travesty.

The Super Bowl audience transcends the world of "football fans." He has the money. Obviously. I'm happy he spent it on this message. One of the better ads on a program with one of the world's highest audience ratings.

It was nauseating. Inspiring would be him fixing the water in Flint, not touting his crappy newspaper.
