Absolutely pathetic story, based on the same tired formula used to scare the populace for the past 2+ years. But absolutely predictable, given how shameless and incorrigible corporate media is on this subjecthttps://twitter.com/rwindrem/status/1091692293432725504 …

This story is like a "Greatest Hits" of pathetic Russia fear-mongering: pretending online trolls are the gravest modern menace, conflation of US foreign policy criticism with taking the pro-Kremlin line, citations of Clint Watts and the phony "New Knowledge" firm. It's a bad joke

NBC News even promotes the GoFundMe of the internet sleuths who want people to crowdfund an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii so they can "investigate" Tulsi's ties to Assad and Russia. I mean, you gotta be kiddingpic.twitter.com/ZdW2tGOiKf

Naturally they also make an asinine Jill Stein analogy, and even manage to throw in a reference to the term "alt-left." Ask yourself: why are they doing this. Editors assign these stories. If you think it's just innocent journalistic inquiry, I have a tower in Moscow to sell you

During the Cold War there were some actual reasons people were afraid of Russia. Yes we know those reasons were inflated. But today the reasons are much more abstract, inflated, to the point of being ludicrous, yet the idea of fearing them has taken root like a seed.

Like a freakin weed... And why is that? Bc we have a willing & extremely activist media to constantly stoke fears and push faulty info without consequence.

The MSM does the bidding of the oligarchy, for sure, but I sometimes wonder if integrity-challenged Rachel Maddow was not directed to create fear so ratings could compete with Fox.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone by now...it’s things like this that’ll (hopefully) cause those newly targeted Lefties to see how horrible it is to be on the other side of the McCarthyistic finger pointing, & (hopefully) bring an end to the era of “guilty because we say...”

If Tulsi didn’t exist they would have to invent her. All the free publicity for a candidate that was almost totally unknown is priceless. Are they trying to make her the next AOC?
