Harris obviously has the communications infrastructure in place such that she could've made a statement sometime in the past 12 days -- if she wanted to. Instead, she's avoiding questions. It's a conscious decision. So ask yourself: why is she doing thishttps://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/venezuela-juan-guaido-donald-trump-2020-democrats_us_5c520bd0e4b04f8645c745f4 …

It's not just that she hasn't taken the initiative to make a statement, her staffers ignored repeated requests for comment from
@danielmarans and colleagues.https://m.huffingtonpost.com.au/entry/venezuela-juan-guaido-donald-trump-2020-democrats_us_5c520bd0e4b04f8645c745f4 … - End of conversation

It’s not a coup. It’s a constitutional move to overthrow an illegitimate president. https://www.facebook.com/1453224228308154/posts/2035916096705628/ …

If she agrees then Harris should say that and tell us where she stands. She wants to be President. Like 80% of the job is foreign policy.

Harris and her staff/mentors are shrewd enough to identify a radioactive dumpster fire when the see one. This situation is unpredictable and politically toxic no matter which side is supported. Social media attention spans quickly forget. She has no need to expose her own skin.

Well said. Neither has her “brother” Cory.

To not say anything, one way or another, is cowardly. Too many politicians are afraid to say anything that hasn’t been focus group tested & wrung through the bureaucracy

I haven't seen anything about Venezuela from Kamala Harris, Julian Castro, or Joe Biden.

Far as I know, Bernie is the only one who has taken a position.

I will not support any candidate who continues to stand by current US foreign policy of mass murder of other ethnic groups in order to control resources. The old fallback argument saying it's 'supporting democracy' or 'for the ppl' is all bs & most know that. It's pure evil.

She was a ghost in CA. Don’t look for her to take any black and white positions. Loved Medicare For All for a whole 24 hours though.

If nothing else, maybe she can shift the Overton window with respect to foreign policy.

Kamala Harris: Tough on single moms. Principled enough not to prosecute Steve Mnuchin. Fearlessly accepting corporate cash.

Right because Venezuela is the only place where citizens ever get "shot by the government"

You’re wrong!!!!!, the real coup was the May rigged elections “won” by Maduro. This is a life or death thing for us (Venezuelans) we need any help we can’t get. It’s not a left or right issue, is a Mafia trying to stay in power no matter what, even chavistas want this to END.

Americans understand the sentiment, but we don't know what the situation on the ground is. A popular movement with enough support can overthrow him with very little outside support. If we get involved and he still has strong support, Venezuela could fall into civil war.
