Listening more to Schultz, and his rejection of left-wing Democratic Party doctrines, seems entirely plausible that a non-trivial segment of Trump-weary Republicans could support him (there aren't many, but they exist). The "ex-Democrat" narrative is powerful in conservative lore

Some Hillary voters would flip to Schultz. Virginia may not go to the democrats

Trump underperformed with these areas...because they voted for Democrats...they might switch their vote to independent..Trump wont lose votes that he didnt get in 2016

And the more that democrats try to insult him and marginalize him, the more Trump supporters look upon him favorably

Schultz is basically proposing to run to the right of Trump on economics and to the left of Trump on immigration. Surely that combination will take votes from Trump, not from a Democrat candidate running largely on increased spending on social programs & increased taxation.

i don't understand how orange county, ca would affect trump's electoral performance in the slightest?
-
virginia also went to hillary in 2016. if anything, it seems like any public never-trump sentiment from republicans in these areas might be out of social convenience rather than sincere political leanings.

What I want to know is why a guy who got rich putting hippie coffee shops out of business is taken more seriously than a three term Congressperson with a long voting record.

Does he change the electoral map tho? My guess is he gives trump a chance in CO MN VA as dems split their support between Schulz and some commie. What dates that he win become endangered?

Yeah, for better or worse, this is way more complicated than Schultz simply siphoning off Democratic votes. Trump may regret making a big deal out of this.
