Trump has been in open conflict with the "Intelligence Chiefs" since before his presidency began (remember when he compared them to Nazis) -- the broader implications of this have still not been adequately considered, especially by Dems who are now the Intel Chiefs' biggest fans

Ending #ForeverWar will not be easy. #Establishment profits a lot from it.

I am delighted we have a President who is 'skeptical' of the Intelligence Community. Had GWB been skeptical of the IC we might not have been so easily LIED into war with Iraq.

Two years ago Chuck Schumer stated that when anyone criticises the CIA they have six days to get back at you. It's astonishing that such a disturbing statement didn't cause outrage and full blown debate in the media. A president has to fear the CIA and not a ripple of concern.

There is the possibility that it's all an act, & that behind the scenes DT & the IC are allies. Wouldn't be the first time the US media & populace has been fooled.

Before Trump even won the primary, hundreds of ex intelligence people signed the never-trump letter saying he was unfit for the job. It is why his foreign advisory people were all no-name people.

Current members of the Intel Com. that didnt want Trump to be prez are most definitely in CYA mode. Whereas the retired members of the IC that makeup VIPS are in a position to be objective yet knowledgeable. Ray @raymcgovern a founder of VIPS voted for Jill @DrJillStein

Trump will just have to make do with the advise and counsel of John Bolton, Elliot Abrams and Sean Hannity in his efforts to reign in the national security state.

JFK loathed the IC chiefs and Nixon did not trust them. The CIA actively worked to defeat Carter too. The conflict is not new.
