Dear media libs: we know you hate Trump to the point of insanity, but please, don’t side with the cruel tyrant of Venezuela against the people of that oppressed and despoiled country just to spite “Drumpf”

Rejecting another US regime change initiative is not "siding" with Maduro. Please try to understand this.

I’m not saying this in a snarky way, I’m honestly asking- what do you mean? Is this not a popular uprising by the Venezuelan people against a despot who cheats in elections, jails the opposition, violates the Constitution, and has ruined the country? How is this a US plot?

I didn't use the word "plot." The most powerful country in the Hemisphere and world proactively recognizing a leader who extra-legally declared himself president is a blatant and obvious attempt to facilitate regime change.

Wouldn’t we be picking sides by (diplomatically) not picking sides? I’m not saying we should land the 82nd airborne in Caracas, but isn’t choosing to recognize Guaido the right move? Our government can recognize whomever it wants to. It’s our prerogative.

Yeah, and the point of this recognition is to facilitate the ouster of Maduro. Thus, a regime change gambit.

I’m against any military intervention to overthrow the regime, but simply encouraging the people of Venezuela to overthrow a murderous despot is not a bad thing.

The Left didn't say a word when Obama and Hillary were using the US military to overthrow sovereign nations in the Middle East, now they are crying for a tyrant because the US declared someone else the Temporary President of Venezuela.

Truth, ppl I follow who identify as left (who aren't establishment supporting Dems) have been consistently against the foreign interventions regardless of administration. MSM tends not to give a platform to such rhetoric though.

Option A: Do nothing, Venezuela collapses, people suffer and die, and it becomes our problem still when there is a real reason for Venezuelan's to flee in-mass. Option B: Recognize an interm leader and hope the people rise up and stabilize enough so we don't get more refugees.
