FiveThirtyEight has concluded that Kamala is the "strongest" candidate based on a bunch of flimsy, jargon-laden criteria that basically amount to gibberish. And then they'll deny that they're actively shaping perceptions of the race; just objectively analyzing "data"pic.twitter.com/mtnTMWJdKN

I also think it's condescending to assume that Kamala is automatically the "strongest" candidate among black voters, considering Obama's VP is likely running. It's not a monolithic bloc. Hillary was initially favored by black voters in 2007, over Obama. Then the campaign happened

Given what we know about the behind the scenes effort to make Harris a black successor to the Clinton wing and coalition, this article is more affirmation that this site does in fact push the construct's narrative. A $6M annual deficit has to be bridged by someone, somewhere.

It’s absolutely racist and belittling to assume black voters or other POC in general vote based on skin tone, or on anything other than issues, policy proposals, or other IDEAS debated during the course of a campaign, especially this early on.

My fave is how Tulsi Gabbard is listed as an oddball also-ran, with exactly two factoids presented: Assad & past anti-gay sentiments.

That is how 538 operates. They assume the premise and then hope it becomes true because they said it.

It's pretty patronizing to assume Black voters will vote as a monolithic block and vote based on identitarianism. Somehow this casual racism escapes criticism from much of the "woke left" 538 is celebrating.

Bernie also did extremely well with millennial black voters and there's no reason to think he will do worse with the new (even more liberal) crop that came of age this cycle.

It was a thought exercise where Nate imagined who a candidate might appeal to, that is to say which constituencies. He didn’t give anyone the nomination. In fact, he mentioned how he was skeptical of Kamala before thinking of the 5 constituencies in this way. Don’t be daft.

Such a strange irony to be constantly barking about racism, but then just assuming that people will vote a certain way because of their skin color.

It's just the start of the Dem. Party & their attendant MSM cronies push to convince Black Americans that their best interests will be served by a corporate prosecutor who believes cops can do no wrong, esp. to Black folks. She's a pale version of Obama...sans the Black spouse.

Has something changed with Biden's candidate status? I got the idea that it was unlikely he would. I don't think Obama would endorse him unless he was the last man standing

Yeah Biden has just as much unscientific soft support with the black voting block as Senator Harris since his endorsement tacit or otherwise is Obama. Also same could be said if Senator Booker joins.
