Because the person gets to decide how they identify, just as you may choose one of your grandparents to say you are an Italian America, because that is the culture you feel most comfortable in, even though you are an Italian French Welsch Irish American in real truth.

Because it is a question of how *they* chose to identify, not how you choose to gatekeep identities for others. Do you also do this with individuals who are fem presenting but identify as non-binary or masculine?
