Normally, I'd agree with you, but after the info released on Trayvon, Tamir Rice, ect.... this is nothing. Ps.. those 2 were treated as adults even though they were younger than the Maga hat troll.

I think they way they were treated was also disgusting, but exponentially moreso.

Maybe he wasn’t smirking. Don’t assign feelings and intentions to someone you don’t know, over a few seconds of video. Good grief!
-
To smirk is a transitive or intransitive verb: the physical action of smiling smugly; it is NOT an emotion or intention. For ex, "He smirked wryly once confronted with the accusation." Do you not understand the basic structural rules governing composition? Good grief!

Smirking at an adult trying to get him to act out is appropriate.
-
Wow, misread of the situation.

Hollywood producers creating artwork where the kids are fed to woodchippers. Screenwriters saying "never forgive." Journalists seeking their yearbooks. People going through their homework. Death threats. Bomb threats. This is a nightmare.
-
It really makes me feel good about my decision not have kids. But I fear for my nephews and this gross world they’ve inherited.

Smirking wasn’t wise? If he did ANY facial expression and stood his ground, he’d be called a racist. If he ran away, he’d be called a racist. The optics of an old Native American man are just too opportunistic for race baiters to converge and build narratives.
-
If a MAGA hat passes the general vicinity of a tan-skinned person, any narrative can be crafted out of context. These are also the same people calling black Trump supporters white supremacists... There’s no reasoning either way.

Watch the whole video. I doubt I would have been as stoic or respectful at that age.
-
The kid was likely uncomfortable that an unknown man was banging a drum inches from his face and the smile was a reaction to being uncomfortable. Which is a pretty natural response, especially for a kid.

Would you be lamenting the internet seas if he had hit a high note and was being lauded for his singing voice ? Mob mentality is what motivated him. Don’t understand your quick defense of flawed upbringing and behavior.

Watch the whole video. He looks like it’s an uncomfortable, unsure & confused smile. I don’t know that smirk is accurate if you watch the whole video. He’s just a teenager.

100% agree.

I cannot imagine any kid I know standing there - they would have moved away - that was the obvious response

Some people don't respond passively to getting bullied though

Some people have a different reaction when I’m an uncomfortable situation. He’s a teenager, remember when you were at some point? He wasn’t disrespectful. At all. He just didn’t know what to do with a stranger approaching him. Period.
-
I 100% smirk like that when I'm uncomfortable or not sure how to react
